West Tacoma is a larger Tacoma neighborhood best known for its sunset views and waterfront parks. It is directly adjacent to a few smaller municipalities like Fircrest and University Place. While these two cities aren’t technically Tacoma, they are still often thought of as the West Side and so we have included them in our West Tacoma guide. The West side includes notable sites like Tacoma Community College, Salmon Beach, Titlow Park, Chambers Bay and the Narrows Bridge.
The West End has a more spread out feel with larger lots and less dense neighborhoods and fewer commercial properties. It is fairly easy to get around but due to the lack of businesses driving is the method of choice for most. The West End is made up of several smaller neighborhoods and municipalities such as;

Things To Do in West Tacoma
As a large community with several smaller zones contained within it, there is a lot to do on the West Side. Locals and visitors can visit the sprawling Chamber Bay Park which has a world class golf course, as well as miles of hiking and biking paths spanning both the golf course and beautiful grassy waterfront park area. The park is nestled on the southwest end of University Place, with amazing views that look west out onto Chambers nt Bay towards Gig Harbor and Fox Island.
Its proximity to the local community college, TCC, means that residents and locals can visit the campus and attend on-campus events. The West Side also features one of Tacoma’s most prominent landmarks, the Tacoma Narrow Bridge. There is walking / biking path that allows people to walk across the bridge and cross into neighboring Gig Harbor.
